Many people feel that only professional athletes, personal trainers, and gym teachers can maintain a healthy lifestyle. To these individuals, being fit and staying fit is too heavy a burden to bear. However, staying healthy is a simple, realistic goal that anyone can achieve.

Here’s how:

1) Join a Gym: Membership at a gym is an important way to maintain your fitness. Gym members can choose from a variety of activities—weight lifting, cardio, swimming, specialized classes—to help reach and maintain their fitness goals.

2) Supplements: Supplements come in all shapes and sizes and can be ordered from various places, such as an online Cialis pharmacy. For instance, there are supplements to help you lose or gain weight or recover faster after a workout. Shakes and supplements high in protein are great for building muscle. And if you need a little extra health and strength in the bedroom, you can order Viagra via a website to lend a helping hand.

3) Walk: It may sound simple, but this basic, cost effective idea is lost on numerous people. Here are some “more active” ways to keep up your physique: a) Instead of taking the elevator around the office, take the stairs; b) If you have a dog, take him or her for more frequent or longer walks; c) Put away the delivery menus and walk to a restaurant for lunch a few times each week.

4) Home Fitness: If you prefer the indoors, workout videos and home exercise machines will keep you in tip top shape. And if you’re a little low on cash, pushups and sit-ups before work and bed are reliable alternatives.

When you are training to enter a race, enter a new sport or just to increase your endurance it is vital to plan your workout carefully. There are several important things that you must take into consideration.

One of the first things to consider is your current level of fitness. This will affect the type and intensity of exercise that you can do. If you are just starting out, go easy at first and slowly build the intensity of your workout over time. For example, if you are wanting to increase your speed when running, speed drills are an excellent exercise. You can use a track, starting by walking or jogging for a quarter and then sprinting the next.

Swimming is a great exercise to increase your endurance and exercise your body. You can start how by swimming laps for about twenty minutes, then increase your time as you become stronger. Swimming will work almost every muscle group in your body, while also helping you to learn how to breathe efficiently. Breathing is one of the most important skills that you can learn. If you can concentrate on and learn to control your breathing, you can increase the amount of time that you can exercise and increase your level of performance.

Cross training in many ways is also beneficial, as you keep your muscles from becoming too accustomed to one form of exercise. This also makes exercise more enjoyable and keeps you motivated to become healthier and better at the sport you choose to play.

It’s no wonder that Nike athletic clothing has been endorsed by athletes ranging from Michael Jordan to Lance Armstrong to Mia Hamm. Athletes appreciate clothing that is well-designed and comfortable. This is as important to athletes as security systems are to big houses. Physical activity can be strenuous and downright difficult on your body, which makes it important to wear fabric that breathes and feels soft to the touch.

Ideal Sportswear Fabrics

The ideal fabric for athletic wear is cotton and other varieties that feel soft. Sportswear creators such as those who design Nike athletic clothing take great care in choosing the right fabrics. Although for some athletes, wearing a soft fabric is just a matter of preference, it is a necessity for any athlete who participates extensively in sports.

Skin Problems Associated With Uncomfortable Sportswear

Chafing is one of the common problems experienced by competitive athletes. When an athlete participates in many hours of a particular physical activity, his body parts may rub together or rub up against his clothing. This constant friction can result in athletic skin injury and intense discomfort. The problem is exacerbated by wearing fabrics that are abrasive.

The rates of obesity in the United States are at an all time high and one principal reason why obesity is up in all age and gender groups is due to lack of exercise.

Before the industrial, media and internet revolution, people did not have cars, televisions and computers and society was primarily working in the farms. Due to these occupational factors, people were much more physically active and leaner despite a lack of advanced diagnostic and therapeutic technology. There was even a dearth of vaccines so that people used to die from various microbial infections. There was little protection against smallpox, tetanus, polio and other blood and air borne diseases.

With rapid evolution of technology in medicine, many diseases were entirely eliminated through public awareness, precautions and mass vaccination.

However, changes in occupational factors such as large amount of time spent in front of televisions and computers, since the 1950s and 1980s respectively, has led to an increasing tendency to skip physical activity, exercise and yet eat the same amount of food rich in calories.

This addiction to television and computers takes a heavy toll on mind and body, so that a combination of lack of exercise, mental anxiety, inadequate sleep, large intake of calories is leading to obesity, hypertension, diabetes and other ailments.

One way to tackle all these problems is to eliminate television from family lives altogether. To watch important games one can take the family to a sports bar or to a friend’s place. An hour of internet consumption outside work every day should be more than enough. One must exercise at least 60 minutes a day.

Green exercise is any physical activity done outdoors while surrounded by the beauty of nature. You are engaged in green exercise if you hike up a mountain, run on the beach or ride your bike along a water view path. Science shows that green exercise helps to reduce stress and increase health.

Abandoning the Gym for the Green

The advantage of green exercise is that you don’t have to join a gym. You can simply walk around your tree-filled neighborhood or drive to a scenic location near your home. Green exercise can also be done with your friends, relatives and colleagues. Swimming in a lake or even gardening in your backyard can constitute a form of green exercise.

Green Exercise and Mental Health

According to research, green exercise boosts the mood, reduces stress and enhances a feeling of well-being. Being near a body of water, such a lake, beach or river has also proven to have extensive soothing effects.

Implications of Green Exercise for Health

The findings about green exercise are an encouragement for mental health professionals, teachers, fitness coaches and all others who guide people to better health to make recommendations that involve outdoor exercise.

Green Exercise and City Life

If you live in a city, it may be challenging to find ideal spots for green exercise. Seek out city parks and consider taking a regular drive out to the suburbs or on fun getaways. The benefits of green exercise are extensive enough that it’s worthwhile to make an effort on an ongoing basis to breathe fresh air, see beautiful scenery and burn some calories in the process.

Over the years I have tried just about everything imaginable to lose weight. I’ve done Weight Watchers, drank Slim Fast, tried fad diets and joined numerous gyms, all to no avail. Finally, this year, I have hit upon the perfect diet. The pounds have just melted off. I haven’t lost weight this easily since high school. It’s called the lovesick diet. I walk around mooning over my sons kindergarten teacher and therefore have no appetite at all.

There is nothing like unrequited love to fill your belly with pain, remorse and regret. You are so full of your own emotion that there’s no room for food at all. My mid afternoon snack of cookies or chips has been completely replaced by standing in front of the mirror primping and priming. I can’t even think about food. I need to look my best for kindergarten pick-up. The fact that I don’t know if my sons teacher feels the same about me only adds to the anxiety. And who can eat when they are so anxious?

So far, I have lost seven pounds. I can eat whatever I want. That is, when I actually want to eat. I have gotten numerous compliments from friends and family. One friend even paid me a compliment on my weight loss and then proceeded to ply me with pistachios and dark chocolate. What are friends for? Still, it’s a sticky situation. Does one just ask their sons teacher out, or is it better to wait until after the school year’s over? If it doesn’t work out it can make for some really awkward moments. If it does work out, it can be even awkwarder still. For now, I’m just enjoying the weight loss.

Health and Fitness is a major concern for parents all across America. Obesity in children is on the rise and it is our responsibility as parents to make sure we teach our children how important it is to eat right and exercise. We are very busy in today’s world, so it is imperative that we lead by example. We cannot expect that it will be taught and utilized in school. Budget cuts are slowly but surely weeding our physical activity options in school.

You can lead by example an make it a fun and exciting boding experience between parent and child or a great family adventure. For example, you can for for a family bake ride in the evenings after dinner. You might also take your child every weekend for a walk to the park or even a nature hike. This is an excellent opportunity for you to get to know more about your child as well.

You might also enroll them in sports. Football, soccer and baseball are the most favorite choices, but there are other more creative things they can do as well. You can enroll our child in Karate, Gymnastics and horseback riding. Each and every one of these options burn calories and will keep them physically active. This is so important in the day of video games and text messaging. Children spend far to much time sitting down rather than playing outside as they should be doing to maintain a healthy lifestyle. We as parents can help form their ideas of fitness and health and mold them into a healthy adult, with a little patience and creativity.

There are many ways to spend more time with your children, one of the most physically and mentally rewarding ways to spend time with your children is to volunteer to coach your child’s sports team. This is such a wonderful way to bond with your child and teach them social and physical skills that will be so very beneficial to them later in life.

There are many different types of sports you can coach. Soccer, baseball, cheerleading and so on. If you are interested in coaching a sport for your child, you should choose a sport that your child is interested in, this will ensure that they stay passionate about the sport and help support a healthy amount of self confidence as they will work hard to make sure they are able to perfect their sport.

As a mother, father or guardian, this is one of the best gifts you can give you child. You can teach them amny of lifes most important lessons and all the while you will be strengthening the bond between the two of you. So if you have the time and patience to invest in coaching a sports team that your child is a part of, you will make no better investment in them as productive adults later down the road. With how busy we are these days, it is important that we take time out of our ever busy lives to help build the bonds that tie us together and teach them responsibility, social skills, fitness importance and so much more.

For many of us, Yoga is not only a form of fitness training but also a spiritual endeavor. Those of us who become very experienced in our practice may seek to empower their practice by becoming a certified Yoga teacher. becoming a certified yoga teacher is not only enlightening, but also a great way to make extra money. When considering becoming a yoga teacher, you may be wondering what it entails. Here is a condensed list of what you can expect for a 200 hour teacher training program.

The most important and intensive part of teacher training is actual yoga practice. You will spend much more time than you are accustomed to. You will spend approximately 120 or so hours either doing yoga or teaching yoga. So you will need to make sure that you are physically and mentally ready for this endeavor.

The academics are also important. You will learn anatomy and physiology for yoga. You will also learn how to teach yoga and run your own yoga business.

There is at least 200 hours involved when working twards your certification. If you want to be fully certified, you will also have to register with Yoga Alliance once your training is complete.

Becoming a yoga teacher trainer, is physically, mentally and financially rewarding. The ability to help others with their yoga practice and spiritual growth is rewarding in itself. It is not easy to become a teacher, you have to work hard and dedicate the specified amount of time to develop your practice to become a successful teacher.

Yoga is supposed to be a kinder, gentler type of exercise. Isn’t it? Well, I was recently proved so wrong about that assumption. Last week, while practicing yoga I injured my Rotator cuff. I didn’t even think it was possible until it happened to me. I mean don’t mean people practice yoga specifically to heal injuries?

Eventhough it was my first Vinyasa class I was fine when I left. But by the next morning, and for days afterward, I was in a lot of pain. The pain started in my shoulder and kept radiating down my arm. I kept putting off seeing a doctor. I thought that it would go away on its own. I think that I was just in denial. Finally, the orthopedist confirmed for me what I had known all along. I had injured my Rotator cuff doing yoga. Now I am doing new exercises to alleviate the pain from my original “exercise”. Life is just not fair.

I was apparently very naive when it comes to yoga injuries. Two of my friends had sustained injuries via yoga in the past. One had a wrist fracture and the other had dislocated her big toe. My rotator cuff injury did not seem so bad in comparison to those. I should be back on the mat in just a few more days. Yet, I still wonder, how can an exercise that is based on stretching and slow movement cause such pain. Just how common are these yoga injuries after all?

There is nothing more altruistic and American than volunteering. Our nation’s president urges every red blooded American to get out there and volunteer their time. Unfortunately, volunteering has become a less than thankless job for many of our country’s youth athletic coaches. These men and women selflessly volunteer hours of their free time coaching our nations youth and not only are they not properly thanked for it, many are vilified because of it.

My sons’ own soccer coach has spent countless hours, in less than ideal weather conditions, outside training and conditioning my son and other boys. He has given up paid work just to attend all of his teams soccer games and bought the boys expensive soccer themed gifts with his own money. We should thank the man, right. Unfortunately though, not all parents are so thankful. My sons coach, and others like him, are being hit by a constant barrage of complaints, many of them petty.

These complaints do not come from any of the kids. They come from the parents. Parents complain that their child doesn’t get enough playing time, that their child is made to practice when it’s too hot, or too cold, outside and countless other mindless and petty things. I have even heard a parent vehemently complain to a coach about her son not being invited to another child’s birthday party, as if the coach is supposed to control all social interactions as well. Have they lost sight of the fact that these coaches are volunteers. None of these men or women are being paid to do this. I feel that unless you are willing to step up and coach yourself you need to step back and let the coaches do what they need to do.

Injuries in extreme sports are very much like the sports themselves, extreme. The reason is because athletes in extreme sports are literally reaching new heights and speeds. Unlike can spill on a wooden court, they are occasionally dropping like stones from 30-40 feet, throwing themselves down flights of stairs and flipping over mounds of dirt under the weight of a 250lbs motorcycle.

The damage caused by accidents in extreme sports are then usually pretty severe. That’s why you see athletes sporting protective gear in the elite competitions on TV. Safety gear for extreme sports are specially designed for major spills and support many parts of the body.

Helmets

Whenever engaging in activities at a fast speeds or great heights where you noggin is going to be exposed, it’s essential to wear a helmet. They are seen in traditional sports like football and hockey, and are a staple of extreme sports as well.

Helmets for skateboarding, BMX and rollerblading are the same. A rather bowl shaped apparatus meant to absorb blunt impacts. Meanwhile, helmets for faster extreme sports like motocross and snowboarding also have areodymanic accents to limit the impact of wind.

Knee and Elbow Pads

With the forward momentum associated with extreme sports, the knees and elbows are especially exposed when some goes awry. Most extreme athletes have scars in the same places to attest to that. Wearing knee and elbow pads with plastic exteriors can brunt the impact as well as the scrapes and burns that can be caused by concrete or wood surfaces.

While they do wearing knee pads, BMX riders don’t often don elbow pads. They can inhibit movement of the arms when trying to pull tricks with the handle bars.

Wrist Guards

The natural reaction when falling is to put a hand down to the ground to stop the fall. The same is done by extreme athletes. That pressure though can take a toll on the wrists, which is why some of them wear wrist guards.

Wanting to join in the excitement for the next football match? You don’t have to be in South America to be able to bet on your favorite team. Internet sports betting has made it possible for someone to be a part of the thrill of the game no matter where they are, in Chile or New Jersey. However, finding the right betting site can be difficult, so here are some tips on how to find the right website:

Look on Forums. Sports forums or gambling forums may be a great place for you to watch for tips from other sports betters. This is a place for you to use not only what your friends say, but what others are saying from all over the world. Be looking for what betters say about customer service, website navigation, and the security alerts and systems (which should be advanced), as well as the speed you can withdraw your earnings.

Talk to Friends. Having friends who are into sports betting can help you find a good site to go to, as they will have their own experiences (and probably a list of do’s and dont’s), as well as what they have heard from others. Not only will you get some leads on a good website to use, but you will also have the advice from someone you know and trust, not just somebody on the Internet.

Find Reviews. The best place to find out how safe any sports betting website is, though, is to read sportsbook reviews. This will allow you to know if there have been any complaints about being able to withdraw money, or any scams. If a site is not reputable, it will be noticed and commented on.

Finding the site that gives you the customer service you want as well as the availability and security you need will help you enjoy gambling on the game, not on your website’s security.

Staying hydrated is one of the most important parts of running long distance. Drinking enough fluids like water or sports drinks can provide the body with much needed energy as well as help prevent painful cramping. Dehydration can also lead to more serious, and potentially fatal, issues including heatstroke and exhaustion.

Ample hydration for long-distance running should be done in stages beginning before the run, during the run and continuing after the run. But it all starts with planning ahead.

Knowing the Environment

Before a long run, athletes should have a notion of what they are about to experience. Thus, getting proper hydration means preparing for the elements. Runners should be aware of the day’s temperature and drink accordingly. They should also be conscious of the impending terrain and the amount of exertion required to finish the course.

Pre-game Hydration

Getting hydrated before a long-distance run doesn’t start a few hours before it begins, it starts a few days beforehand. Runners should consume large amounts of water in the days prior, making sure their urine is clear, signifying hydration. It is also important to avoid dehydrating fluids like alcohol.

Staying Hydrated

While on long runs it’s essential to replace all of the fluids that you are losing. If possible, runners should carry water on their person at all times, and at least drink some at 20 minute intervals. Sometimes drinking water alone isn’t enough. Through physical activity the body loses minerals and needed sodium, which sports drinks can also replenish.

Re-hydrating After

After a long run it isn’t time to rest on one’s laurels. The body is still in immediate need of hydration and it is essential for a fast recovery, which is important to continue training. At this point there isn’t much of a limit to how much fluid should be consumed, but drinking too much too fast with an exhausted body can cause vomiting.

Being properly hydrated during a long-distance run can be the difference between finishing and falling out. By making it a primary concern runners can always finish, no sweat.

For athletes to be at the top of their game it takes much more than just strength, endurance or skill. One principle ingredient for competing hard is fuel, and athletes get that fuel from food. When engaging in physical activities like sports the body burns off that fuel and needs it replenished or it will start burning muscle tissue.

By eating the right things before, during and after a trainingregiment or competition, an athlete can increase performance. It’s important to follow a strict diet to keep the body going at top condition and these are some of the foods that will do just that.

Before

Prior to hitting the track or hitting the weights, athletes need to first build up a reserve of fuel that their body can tap and carry them to the end.

Apples – Packed with slow burning carbs, apples are a long lasting fuel source.

Toast w/ peanut butter – Another great source of carbs, but topped with peanut butter it is also a great source of protein that the body needs to build and repair muscle.

Bananas – Full of potassium and loaded with carbs, bananas are a super fruit known for their fuel providing qualities.

During

It might seem counter productive to some to eat while training or competing, but for top athletes that are burning through their fuel reserves they need to replinish it at all times.

Shakes – Energy or protein shakes are the fastest way to replenish the body with fuel as they are infused with essential vitamins and nutrients.

Water – Staying hydrated is an important as the body needs water to help convert sugars and carbs into energy.

Nuts – As a simple snack, nuts pack a healthy energetic punch.

After

Even at rest the body needs fuel to recover.

Fish – High in lean protein for repairing muscles.

Meat – Also packed with protein, but also much needed iron.

Black beans – An protein-rich alternative to meat.

Getting into peak physical condition means eating a fuel rich diet.

Whatever you call them–spills, slams, crashes, nutters, etc.–falls in extreme sports are always some of the worst to see on television. They also lead to some major injuries from broken bones to internal organ damage to severe brain trauma.

In some cases, because of the angle or speed, avoiding injury while falling is impossible but in most incidents it can be easily avoided by falling the right way. Here are some of the safest ways to fall:

The Barrel Roll

This is the most widely used defense against injury while falling. This is because it is very effective when going forward at a high rate of speed, which characterizes pretty much all extreme sports. It is used in nearly all of them including: skateboarding, rollerblading, skiing, BMXing and many more.

Pulling off the barrel roll is accomplished by using your own inertia. Instead of trying to come to a complete stop, simply lower your shoulder and roll your body on the ground with the force of your momentum. At the right moment, you can pop out of it and walk away.

The Knee Slide

Sliding on the knees is traditionally done on a smooth surface that extreme athletes can find on half-pipes and other park obstacles while wearing kneepads. You wouldn’t want to try and slide on a slab of concrete.

When you find yourself out of control in mid-air, it’s best to first and foremost not panic. Instead of flailing your body, use gravity to turn it around and place your knees forward. Once you come to the ramp’s lip, lean back and enjoy the ride.

Rail Grab

Without going into detail, men especially can find falling on handrails to be exceptionally painful. The hardest part about thwarting injury on a handrail is the limited amount time to brace for a fall.

Thus, men have to tap their inner gymnast and grasp the rail and hold on like an Olympian. That way, the impact affects their arms and not something else.

Remember, extreme sports can be very safe when you fall the right way.

Nearly every sport has an off season in which there is a lull in competitions or games, and when athletes can exclusively spend their time training and hopefully getting better. While athletes are sure to be dedicated and involved in their training during the season, they have to be even more so after.

Most off seasons come at a time when the weather changes, making conditions unfriendly to the play of the sport. For athletes that don’t live in areas with climates that are welcoming year round, their training comes with added difficulty. They have to instead come up with a viable plan of action to keep themselves in game shape.

Don’t Stay Sedentary

After a long grueling season, it’s easy for athletes to want to take some time to hibernate and rest their bodies. While this is recommended briefly right after the season comes to an end, it’s important that athletes stay on their toes to avoid becoming too comfortable, and possibly lazy.

Find Suitable Training Facilities Nearby

No matter how exotic the sport, there are many gyms or fitness centers that have equipment suitable for training purposes. For example, more and more fitness facilities are installing rock climbing walls, providing great practice for climbers any time of the year.

Face the Elements

If you’re a marathon runner living in Chicago during the winter, there are no excuses for not still training outside after the streets get plowed. Or if you’re a skier in Florida, rollerblading skis move just as well. Training in harsh conditions also can benefit the body by increasing its endurance during stressful times.

Maintain a Healthy Diet

It may not be training per se, but eating a healthy diet is one of the most important factors for a great physique.

With these training tips, there is no off season.

Very few athletes in extreme sports have full time coaches. Instead, because most extreme sports are individualistic in nature, athletes rely on themselves to crack the secrets of a trick or the helpful suggestions of other athletes. But in sports, everyone needs guidance, whether you’re throwing a baseball or grinding down a set of stairs.

The hardest part about coaching extreme sports is that there is no orthodox training manual to reference, or a long list predecessors to learn from. In extreme sports coaching is more attuned to suggestions instead of demands. And getting the desired results takes some unorthodox coaching.

Utilizing Video

Extreme sports have made their name not only from highly publicized competitions on ESPN, but from popular videos from companies—footwear, apparel, equipment, etc.—showing off their list of sponsored athletes. Videos can help aspiring athletes makes names for themselves, as well as help in their progression.

Coaches should document athletes trying individual tricks so that they can analyze the nuances from the angle they are starting from to the way they move their body.

Create a Routine

In most extreme sport circles, nothing is routine. There is no season or off season; athletes do what they want, when they want.

While most athletes in extreme sports just love doing their sport everyday, a coach should set some parameters with a training regiment so that there is less chance of a decline in progression. Additionally, what tricks need to perfected should be organized.

Address the Psychological Side

The cliché is that sports is more mental than physical. That is certainly true for extreme sports in which new speeds and heights can put fear into anybody. The coach needs to be that encouraging voice inside the athlete’s head.

A lot of athletes in extreme sports have done well on their own, but they could always use a coach.

Doing some sort of sports is the best way to loose your weight and have a beautiful body. Any sort of training in the sports would do, be it something which involves a ball or anything else. If nothing, you can keep competitions with your partner and try to score. The urgency to score will drive you to perform with sincerity if not the will to loose weight.

It is very important to have the correct amount of weight. An overweight body tends to become lazy and can be a breeding place for various types of diseases and health risks. One of the major risks to health is the heart diseases which a person can incur if proper care is not taken. In fact most of the diseases of today are caused due to the unbalanced diet of the people.

Losing weight is something which should be done through vigorous exercise and through starvation. This is recommended by most doctors as their patients come to them after dieting and starving to loose weight. This would only increase or introduce new health risks into the body rather than cure it. Hence, be careful of the method used to loose weight.

You can choose a favorite sports that you want to do daily. It may be something like badminton or tennis which is regularly chosen by people for a regular workout. In such cases there is much less chances of injury, unlike cycling and similar sports which are dangerous. Fix a time in your daily schedule in which you can workout with your partner and you would feel the extra fats shedding off from your body.

If you are overweight then it is high time you did something about it. Start by playing for a few minutes daily and then gradually increase the time so that your body copes up with the new schedule.

Have you ever heard the word extreme sports? There are very few people who are aware of such a sport and its implications. An extreme sport is one in which there is always inherent danger and chances of injury at all the times. It is very important to be highly focused and have accurate concentration when doing an extreme sport.

One of the examples of extreme sports is cycling. It is also one of the most dangerous as the chances of getting injured while cycling on the road is very high. You can understand why this is so when you observe the sport carefully. It is full of turns and bends in which a normal person, other than the athletes is at a high risk of injuring themselves.

Another type of dangerous sports is the ice climbing. There are very few people who attempt this sport as it is a very dangerous sport with a possibility of injuring the climber at every point of the climb. This is because the ice is a very unstable element which can break any moment and so, you would have your hearts in your mouths when you see a person performing the stunt.

Surfing is a more popular type of extreme sports in which the sportsman plays with the characteristics of the tide. It is also an extremely dangerous sport and any person without prior experience or knowledge in the sport is not encouraged to do it. The list of extreme sports does not end here, there are many more to be included which are easily recognizable as a form of dangerous sports.

If you are into extreme sports then remember to be careful and cautious of every move that you do while doing the sport. It is a matter of life and death in some cases and extremely dangerous.

One of the most crazy and aggressive moments in the world can be seen when a sports fan is watching the competition of his idols with a rival team. This is why games like football, cricket, basketball and many others have gained high popularity. They have become so popular that each sportsman is considered as a fashion icon and idol to most of the people.

One of the most popular games in the world is football. It is a very tension filled and aggressive game which is played with a lot of stamina and strength. The game is quite aggressive in the sense that both the fans and the players will be in high competition, screaming words and actions so that the whole thing is like a release from all the tensions and frustrations.

Cricket is another popular game which is considered as highly competitive. It is not aggressive as football but is considered as favorite by many. Cricket starts are usually considered as start icons and celebrities, like the footballers and are in high demand in the media. Cricket is a bat and ball game and is more popular than baseball, which is similar to it though with different rules and regulations.

Basketball is yet another game which is popular. So are tennis and badminton. All these are games which are highly popular and considered as iconic. The sportsmen enjoy the celebrity status, nearly equal to the movie stars and models. They are given equal importance and made the brand ambassadors and given similar honors.

Sports is a something which is competitive, daring and challenging, while at the same time relaxing and releasing from all the tensions of work and daily life. There is a favorite sports for everybody that is highly cherished and of which people are crazy.

There may be very few people in the world indeed who doesn’t like one form of sports or the other. People usually wear the attire of their favorite sportsmen when they go out. You may find this quality especially in football and basketball fans, wearing the t-shirt with the same design and wordings as the ones worn by the professionals when playing.

Sports attires are in high demand in the market. You would observe that footballers are the most popular people in the world and their attires are copied and worn by any crazed fan of football. The t-shirts or the uniforms would be copied, with the same wordings and the same numbering on the back so that it is same as the original one.

Cricket, on the other hand, is a very popular game and millions flocking around to see the competitions among different nations. But the fact is, when it comes to fashion it is not as popular as football or basketball. The attires are copied less often and people are not as obsessed with dressing similar to their sports heroes as the football fans.

Another set of games players who are copied are the rugby players. Rugby is often associated with power and strength like football, and these two games require a lot of aggression on the field which is perhaps the reason for its popularity. People go crazy when the match is on. The uniforms of the rugby players are copied as well and people have accepted it as a fashion to wear them.

Sports attires are quite stylish and chic. You may look very trendy and charming in one of them, so if your wardrobe does not have sports attire in it then it is high time that you bought one and filled the void in it.

You may have heard many times from the media about athletes failing drug tests and them being banned because of it. Have you ever wondered why they take drugs, or why they are being banned for taking drugs? Why not just a penalty or a short ban? Why ban for life in some cases? All these are things which have to be noted and thought of.

Sports is an activity which is won with a person’s skill and training. Athletes take drug to stimulate their system and so perform better with it. In such cases it becomes necessary to take steps to curb this behavior as it would be unfair on those athletes who win the competition with their own skills and intense physical training.

Some of the banned drugs are discussed in this discussion. The first one would be caffeine, which is a banned drug. You may have heard that coffee is the best source for caffeine. Well, it is banned for athletes because it is a drug which stimulates their senses and so, gives those better reflexes. Better reflexes imply better performance.

Anabolic steroids are another category banned for the athletes. This is because this drug stimulates and increases the body weight and enhances muscle strength improving the performance and acceleration of the athlete. Various hormones are taken by the athletes to perform better in their competition. Narcotics are another set of banned drugs.

These are just some of the drugs which are banned. There are much more than these mentioned here. The aim is to reduce the pain which the athlete has to feel and increase the performance through various methods. Taking drugs falls in the category of cheating because the performance is increased through illegal means. Having knowledge in the banned drugs would be beneficial to you.

Having a healthy life is the aim of every person. To live without health is equal to being dead, so you should try to stay as healthy as possible. To do this you may have to work pretty hard and cut down the food and cuisines you love the most. Another thing you can do is to have the food you like but exercise thoroughly so that any unwanted elements in your body can be eliminated.

Everybody has a tight and busy schedule. They find it difficult to find time for having regular workouts. Besides, doing an exercise all by yourself will turn out to be boring and eventually you would abandon the whole plan. So you would have to find a way with which you can keep your interest in the workouts and at the same time feel that it is easy.

The best thing to do would be to buy good exercising equipments. With this you would have to put in less effort yourself but it will be effective to making your body fit and strong. For example, having a walk early in the morning may sound boring to you, especially when you don’t have any company. If you have a treadmill at home then you can watch television or listen to music and workout.

Since there are many types of exercising equipments available in the market, you won’t find it difficult to find one which is suitable for you. You can buy a type of equipment which would be cheap and at the same time effective enough to make your body fit and strong. You can try out the manual equipments as well as those which run on electricity.

Having a regular workout is important for everybody. So if you feel you are not getting enough workouts then go ahead and buy equipment so that you can work out.

When people generally think of playing a sport which is new to them, the first thing that comes tot heir minds is about how they would be coached. Without proper coaching you won’t be able to play a new game properly. Also, if you don’t have basic knowledge in it then you won’t be able to learn the game without any external help.

You may have your own constraints for not being able to hire a new coach. It may be because you don’t have the finance to do so, or it may be because you don’t have the time to hire a coach and learn since you have a busy and hectic schedule. So what would you do? Without a new coach you may not be able to master the sport in a successful manner.

There is one way out of the dilemma. You can try to coach yourself. It may sound impossible to some but the fact is it can be possible if you put in a little extra effort. When you coach yourself you don’t have to wait for the coach to come to you and work at his schedule, neither do you have to worry about the expenses.

If you can find a person who knows the basics of the game then it will be well and good. You can try out the manuals and internet to educate yourself about the game. This would, of course, be not as effective as having a coach but it would definitely a start. Also, since you have a tight schedule this might turn out to be the best solution.

Coaching yourself becomes easy if you put in a little effort and find a partner who can be there to play with you at your timings. In that case you can learnt he game pretty easily.

One of the things which bother the doctors of today is that their patients have very little time to spend for working out and maintaining their body. This leads to various health risks and diseases which would otherwise have been avoided. Hence, they prescribe regular workouts rather than medicines which can help to some extend only.

The solution to get proper workout and at the same time have a good workout is to play some sport regularly. There are many clubs and places available for the people where they can play the sport. A daily schedule can be made with which you can have a regular workout. As the days pass by you could feel yourself getting fitter and healthier.

Initially you might feel it uncomfortable to workout vigorously. It may tire you soon and you would feel like abandoning the whole idea then and there. In that case all you can do is to endure the tiredness and fatigue for a few days. After your body has become accustomed to the work you would feel the fatigue and tiredness going away from your body.

Apart from making you fit and strong, regular workouts would also reduce your weight. This means the fat content in your body would be considerably reduced so that it is easy for you to walk around. This is the reason why thin people are more active than those who are fat. Regular workouts also allow you to be more active and you would feel yourself looking forward to having a workout.

The benefits of having a workout outweigh the disadvantages like tight schedule and so on. It is advisable for you to have some sort of workout. You can play your favorite sport so that you remain fit and strong without any health problems or risks.

An Ironman Triathlon is a grueling test for any athlete. It is something that requires a lot of training. Even once an athlete has the proper training, they may find that they are not quite up to the challenge of an Ironman Triathlon. In fact, these competitions can last up to 17 hours in some cases.

To compete in the Ironman Triathlon, there are three different areas that you will need to train in. There is a swim that is 2.4 miles long, a bike ride that is 112 miles, and a marathon run, which is 26.2 miles. There is some basic equipment that you may need if you are planning to compete in this competition.

First, you will need to make sure that you have some great running shoes. Many people find that one of the hardest parts of the triathlon is the marathon run. Part of this is because it is such a long run, and another reason is because the run is at the end of the race. Training for this run, you may find that you go through a few different pairs of running shoes. Making sure that you get a good fit is important, so you don’t hurt your feet more than needed.

Having a bicycle is also important. You will not make it far in the 112 mile bike ride if you have not trained hard for it. Because of this, having a good bike that you can train with is crucial to making sure that you train correctly.

You will also need to work on your swimming. Though at first 2.4 miles may not seem long, it will become excruciating if you do not work on it long in advance. Whether you have a personal pool to train in, or you just use the one at the gym, you will need to make sure that you start your swimming training soon.

Sports can be anything that would challenge your mastery and skills, daring you to prove that you are one among the best. It is a global phenomenon and was practiced by all ancient cultures. An academic year is incomplete without a sports meet of one kind or the other in which various sportsmen get to compete and prove their talent.

The endurance sport is a category of sports in which your abilities would be stretched to the limit so that only the best among the best would be able to do it. This category of sports can give you an excellent workout and keep you lean and fit. Not only that, this is a sport which cannot be done by everybody, it requires a little of daring, a little of skill and a little of confidence to do.

The endurance sports have plenty of aerobic characteristics making it the best type of exercising, albeit a bit difficult. The aerobic exercise is the one which tends to make the oxygen system of the body much improved. Hence, it is the best of the exercises. It allows the oxygen to reach different parts of the body easily and so keep you fit and healthy.

The endurance sports include cross country skiing, rowing, marathons and similar such sports which would require a lot of energy and practice to succeed in. it is not like the normal sports in which all you have do is run maybe a 400m or 800m at the most. In this it would require you to run for kilometers and so, would get you exhaust if not properly trained in it.

Any type of sports would make you fit and healthy. Endurance sports is better done after a lot of practice, else you would find that it takes a toll on your health.

Did you know that there is a category in sports called the bat and ball game? This is a section of sports which includes all the sports which needs a bat and ball to play. Now, don’t get confused with bat and ball games like cricket, and other games like golf and hockey because golf and hockey are not bat and ball games. For this reason, the bat and ball games are also known as the safe haven games.

Typically, in a bat and ball game, there are two teams. One team would do the batting and the other fielding at a time. These two roles may also be known by other names such as “in a bat” for batting on the field and “out in the field” for the players fielding. These may also be known as in and out. The two activities are alternated between the teams.

The team which is doing the batting is the one which would score points at that instant. The person who is fielding will throw the ball to the person who is batting. The ball should be delivered in way that it tries to hit some point which the person who is batting is trying to defend. After striking the ball, the person batting would try to get runs by running away from his safe position to the danger zone.

The bat and ball games are pretty interesting and fun to watch. In fact, two of the games in this category, cricket and baseball, is played and admired by people all around the world. Cricket is an international game with millions of followers. Baseball is well known as well. You will be able to see crazed fans going to the length of taking loans just to watch their favorite sportsmen playing on the field.

A sport is an activity which has been going as long as the existence of man himself. Every activity which can show the mastery and skill of a person can be considered as a sport. In fact, sport is a term which is used to describe something fun, daring and exciting. It is always associated with competition but sport can be any activity.

Perhaps the earliest accounts you would hear about competitive sports is from the legends of ancient Greece. This was a country known for its rich and diverse cultures and heritage. One of the accounts from history is the annual meets of sports held in large stadiums. In fact, this culture has a hand in the competitive sports you see today.

The Greece is not the only country which was actively engaged in competitive sports. There are accounts from China of having various competitions for determining the best among the skilled people. Every country or nation has its own form of sports; some have been carried away to other nations while others remain behind as local form of sports.

You would find in history that polo was originated in the modern Iran, brought to Ancient India, and carried on from there to England and rest of the world. Similarly, cricket is believed to have originated in England and was spread to rest of the world as British merchants and businessmen scattered over the world. Football has a rich history with many countries playing with the ball using their feet.

The point is, each sport has an origin and it has been carried onto rest of the world by the people who came to other countries for trade and similar such things. There can be no better way of showing your mastery and skill than winning a sports event.

MMA stands for “Mixed Martial Arts.” It is an extreme sport that combines moves from a variety of martial arts from around the globe. This means anyone that has participated in a specific marital art has the ability to train and compete in MMA. MMA takes a lot of exercise and conditioning in order to be good because it is a very physical sport. Without strength, agility, and good understanding of the sport, the competitor has no chance of winning.

Since the sport requires so much physical strength, fighters have to dedicate most of their time to intense training. It is not enough to be able to run long distances, because endurance is not necessarily the key, rather extreme amounts of energy that are used constantly is the type of skill that is needed. Each tournament will probably have different rules, so you have to train differently for each upcoming match. The UFC is the largest MMA organization and will have a list of upcoming tournament opportunities on their website or your local chapter page.

During an MMA tournament, you are matched against someone that is of equal body type. There are nine different weight categories that range from featherweight to heavyweight. This is so the match can be based on skill rather than size and physical strength, although that is a key factor within your own weight level.

If you are interested in participating in MMA, join a martial arts group to learn the skills and techniques of that form. You will need to work on your physical strength and agility so that you will be conditioned when it comes time to enter your first tournament. A trainer can help train you and pick out your clothing, like Tapout brand gear. A sports therapist can also help you learn how to avoid injury, but be able to patch you up if it does occur.

If you have made the decision to attempt your first triathlon, then congrats, because doing it is an accomplishment enough in itself. Just make sure you understand that what you are about to attempt is not anything that is easy. In fact, it will probably be one of the biggest challenges of your life, so before you start your journey to the finish line it’s best to get yourself in the right frame of mind and get all your ducks in a row. Following the following tips should help you get ready for the big day.

1. Talk To Your Doctor – This has to be the first thing. No matter what kind of shape you think you are in or how healthy you are, training for a race like that will put your body through things that you never thought it would go through. Take a day and talk to your doctor and tell them about your endeavor and they should be able to tell you if you are going to be okay by doing some simple blood tests and putting you through a routine physical. It’s the one move you should make.

2. Get Rest – Even early on in your quest to reach that finish line you will be tempted to push your body, and while it’s good to push yourself, you have to be careful not to over-do it. Make sure you are sleeping at least 8 hours a night and if you are having a day where you feel particularly tired but are scheduled to train then do yourself a favor and take the night off.

3. Be Reasonable – Everyone wants to win the race but few can. Know what kind of athlete you are and set realistic expectations for yourself. It will save you a lot of agony and make you feel good in the long run.

If you are going to be attempting your first triathlon one of the things you are probably learning early and often is that there is more than a little bit of information to consider. Honestly, the amount of information out there can be downright overwhelming so it’s tough to know what you should follow and what you shouldn’t. You are only looking out for yourself and trying to do your best but with that has to come with good common sense and a safe way to train. Following these guidelines should help make your first triathlon a happy and safe race.

1. Set realistic training goals – You can get bogged down in all the information a book gives you about how many hours of training you should do. Every book is bound to tell you something different but that doesn’t make any of them right. The fact is the best amount of time to spend training is as much as you can reasonably do. Shoot for at least 5 hours a week so that way you are focusing 90 minutes on each discipline. But if you can do more you should but under no circumstance should you ever overtrain. There is more harm than good that comes from that.

2. Attack Your Weakness – This is a big one that a lot of rookies seem to forget. If it comes down to spend an extra hour that week working on a discipline don’t focus on the one that you are already good at, focus on the one that you need the most help with.

3. The Real Water is Your Friend – A lot of newbies take a lot of time practicing in the pool but a lot of them should be focusing their energy in the real water so anytime you can get into the lake or the ocean, you should do so.

If you are approaching the race day for your first triathlon, you are probably getting really excited and really scared too. There’s a lot to be nervous about and once you get there and see the throngs of people you will find out that this is a big deal to a lot of people. You might even feel out of place a bit, but there is nothing to worry about as long as you are smart on race day and you have your thoughts in the right frame of mind. So remembering a few simple things will make your race day a much more pleasant experience.

1. You’ll Survive The Water – This is everyone’s biggest fear, and it’s the one that comes with the most risk, but you have to know that you will not drown and you will not be pulled out. There are usually rest stops along the side that will help you if you get into trouble. But don’t worry about getting into trouble. You’ve practiced and you are prepared and you’ll complete it. Don’t worry and just swim.

2. Don’t Overeat The Night Before – This is a big one and it gets lost. The idea of “carb loading” before the race is actually something that is supposed to be done in 2 or 3 days prior to the race, not just the night before. So when it comes to overeating just make sure you aren’t putting food in your mouth past the feeling of being full.

3. Forget Everyone Else – People will pass you, some casually and some that will make you feel like you are standing still, but don’t worry about that at all. It’s not their race, it’s yours and you should complete it in the time you were scheduled to. The tri will be easy if you just remember that it’s not a race.

There isn’t anything better than the feeling of accomplishing something you never thought you could do. This is the reason why so many people attempt things like triathlons and marathons. There is so much satisfaction in doing something like it and in doing it well. But there are reasons to be cautious before attempting something so daring, especially if you haven’t always been in the best of health. You want to do something great but you don’t want to hurt yourself in the process. You want to think back fondly on it and that may not be possible if you go about it in the wrong way, so it’s best to be ready for whatever is going to happen. With that being said here are some things to keep in mind depending on what you are attempting.

Marathons – These are not for the faint of heart…literally. It’s most important to make sure you are cardio sound so that there is no question when you attempt to do it. You should remember that during your training to give yourself lots of shorter runs and follow a program. There are many marathon beginners who think they can wing it and this usually leads to a rather dismal race day where they don’t finish. Trust the pros and do it right.

Triathlons – This is all about making sure you are varying up your disciplines. So many people get locked into learning the running or the swimming or the biking that they forget that the key to a good tri is spending a lot of time on each discipline, and extra time on the areas that seem to give you the most trouble. So if you are able to do that you should be in line for a great tri.

Your next endurance race could be your best but you will need to come prepared.

If you are thinking about running a marathon you are probably the envy of your family and friends. Many of them are in awe of your want and wish to do something like that. Many of them believe they could never run a marathon. They think it is out of their realm of possibility and the truth is that you may be doubting it too. You might be wondering if you have what it takes to get through the year long training program and if you can compete and actually finish. The answer is that you most certainly can, but you will have to prepare and keep a good frame of mind. That will involve knowing a few things.

You might have an injury setback. This happens to a lot of first time runners when they are training for something so heavy. They are putting a lot of miles on and sometimes that will spill over into nagging injuries or something that might sideline them for a day or two. This could be the same with you but just anticipate it and make sure when it does happen that you take the proper steps to recover from it correctly so it doesn’t become an injury that lingers.

You might get discouraged. You are pushing your body further than it ever thought it could go and that means that it will get harder and harder for you mentally. Runs you take won’t be good or you might even quit on a run, but that is no reason to stop your training and throw everything away. The fact is it’s just an alert usually that you are doing too much. Take a couple of days off and get back on the path.

You can do this but you have to be ready for it and you have to be ready for the obstacles that come along with it.

Everyone has heard of lacrosse but that doesn’t mean everyone knows about the game or the history of it. The fact is lacrosse is one of the oldest games around. It began in the United States and Canada all the way back when the Native Americans used to run the land in the area. The two tribes that are the most responsible for the game at its earliest inception were the Huron tribe and the Iroquois tribe. However, it isn’t like we see it today.

Today, lacrosse is simply a sport and something to be played for enjoyment and purely for the love of the game. Back when the Native Americans were playing, it had more to do with using the ball game as part of a rigorous religious ritual and it was used as a way to resolve conflicts which is a novel concept in today’s adult world. And they also thought it was helpful in preparing men for war and making strong men. There were stories of games that involved over a century of men waiting to play and the fields that they were playing on were much bigger than today’s fields ever could have been. The balls back then too were made of clay or stone and, on occasion, wood.

If you are looking for an exact timeline it appears that it could have been done in the 12th century but, since its inception as one of the worlds oldest team sports, there have been many many changes that have impacted the sport in a positive way and have given it the commercial appeal it has been so desperately needing. The fact is lacrosse probably doesn’t belong to anyone in this country. It was here well before our time and has only evolved since it came around.

Lacrosse hasn’t always been limited to one of the best college sports in the world. The fact is that lacrosse has been around for much longer than most people know and has played significant roles in the development of the communities and the religious lives of those tribes over and across the continents for many years. Lacrosse was considered something that was done in the spirit of combat and the warriors who played the game took on that ideal. They played it for their gods.

So how did it go from a Native American game to something that is slowly becoming a mainstream college sport? In 1637 it was the first time that a European person had ever written about the game in a book that was called lacrosse. The missionary Jean de Brebeuf wrote about the sport which was being called “field hockey.”

But it wasn’t until 1856 when William George Beers founded a lacrosse club in the city of Montreal, was lacrosse really something that was more than just a Native American sport. But when Beers created the lacrosse club he did so with the idea of making some serious changes to the sport that would make it easier to play. The first thing he did was make the game shorter. This would allow the game to be played recreationally and to be done more than just once a week.

The other issue he had was with the number of players. There were over 100 players who used to play. He since reduced the players to twelve each team. This is some of the changes that you can see today if you were to attend a local lacrosse game or if you are playing a lacrosse game. The first game was played under the lacrosse rules in 1867.

All games and sports evolve, but today’s lacrosse fan would be baffled if they saw an old-fashioned version of the game. The field would be endless, players would reach the triple digits, and the game would go on for more than half a day. But it was William George Beers in 1867 who played the first lacrosse game under new rules at the Upper Canada College. He had shortened the time, the field and the people involved. The game from there exploded and began being played by high schools and universities in the early 1900’s. It was in the 1928 and 1932 Olympics.

Its exposure to the US was limited to a regional even in places like New York, Texas, and Florida. There has been a recent growing popularity in some of the other southeastern states. It’s gotten more well known in the mainstream media in years and some of it was due to some unwanted press but, none the less, there was a rise in the visibility. This also led to unique innovations in the sport, including the introduction of a plastic stick head. This was revolutionary as it allowed for the game to be much faster as there was less weight to the stick. This ramp up in speed made it that much better and more attractive to American audiences.

The game also moved from a bigger field to the smaller fields. This came due to the invention of something called box lacrosse. This allowed the game to be played indoors and became a hit in Canada. The reasons for that is because there is such severe winter weather that many sports can’t be played outdoors. Lacrosse is growing around the world as more and more people are recognizing what a challenging, fast-paced, and energetic sport it is. It’s popularity will continue to grow.

You hear people mention all the time the idea of “endurance sports” and you wonder exactly what that means. If you’ve ever played a game of tennis or if you’ve ever played a long game of basketball you know that it takes its own kind of endurance—but that isn’t what they mean when they say “endurance sports.” Unlike other sports activities that simply require a sharp mind and/or quick hands, endurance requires the use of both the mind and body. So what do they mean? What are the different types of endurance sports in this country?

The Half Marathon – This is a 13.1 mile race usually in the spring and the fall times. In most cities where there is a marathon, the half marathon comes a month prior to the bigger race day. Generally there are no challenging altitudes or rough terrain, just you and your will to finish.

The Marathon – This is a 26.2 mile run through anywhere. It comes from the Olympics where the Greeks would run from the site of the Olympics to the city of Marathon. Finishing times vary on the contestants and this race poses serious health risks to its participants. You should consult a doctor before trying this or any other Olympic sport.

The Triathlon – This is where participants take part in three events. There is the swimming which is usually rounded up to a mile. Then the biking which is 26 miles, and then a 6.2 mile run. This is the most expensive of the endurance sports because it takes the most equipment and can be one of the most time consuming.

The Half Iron Man – This involves a 1.5 mile swim, a 55 mile bike ride and a 13 mile run. This is also known as the 70.3.

The Iron Man – The mother of all endurance sports, the Iron Man is a 2.5 mile swim, a 110 mile bike ride and a 26 mile run.

When you hear the term “endurance sports” you probably think of the usual things. What you hear is “triathlon, marathon, and Iron Man” but what you might not know is that the term “endurance sport” means something wholly more complex and involved than that. There are many other endurance sports that take place all over the world and some you may or may not have heard about.

Duathlon – This is basically like a triathlon but without the water. There is a running part, then a cycling part, then another running part. There is a major duathlon in London every year and it is growing in its popularity.

Aquathlon – This is another triathlon but without the cycling. This is where there is a running leg, a swimming leg, and then another running leg.

Ultramarathon – These are two different types of races but both involve running far beyond the 26.2 that a traditional marathon requires. The distances range between 31 and 62 miles. These are very dangerous races and do require extensive training and a good physical before making the decision to participate in one.

Pump and Run – This is an interesting and lesser known event. This is where contestants have to do a strength competition before during an endurance event. This could be a bench press followed by a 10k. The participants are usually bigger rather than leaner.

Quadrathlon – This is where there is a fourth event added to the triathlon. This is where there is swimming, kayaking, cycling, and running. The three traditional legs are run in the same distances while the kayaking is 12.4 miles.

1. The goalie does not serve his penalty time unless it it for unsportsmanlike conduct or a two minute foul. The in-home will serve instead. The goalie will be subject to expulsion after a second unsportsmanlike penalty.

2.The goalie may pick the ball up with his hand if the ball is ensnared in the back of the goal or if there is mud in the crease. The four second count to get out of the crease starts when the goalie has the ball in his stick.

3. The goalie may clamp the ball in the crease. No one is allowed to poke around the goalie’s stick when the ball is clamped. Goalie’s possession.

4. The goalie has five seconds to return to the crease after running out a shot. If the goalie runs the ball up the field on a clear, he does not have this five second grace period to get back in position.

NCLL League Rules

All teams must pay their annual dues in a timely fashion. Dues are currently $200 per year.

All teams must report their scores to the Official NCLL Statistician within 48 hours of game time; win or lose, home or away. Much of the confusion and delay in scheduling playoff games has been caused by some teams reporting their scores at the last minute or not at all.

All teams should monitor the standings and schedules that are posted to verify their accuracy.

All teams must be current with their dues and play the minimum of eight (8) games versus different NCLL member opponents to be eligible for the playoffs.

All teams must play the teams in their division to establish a division champion then schedule other NCLL teams to fulfil the eight game minimum.

If a team plays the same team two or more times, which is discouraged, the first time they play is the game that counts in the standings; unless they determine beforehand that the 2nd game is the one that counts. They are still obligated to play seven other opponents, Division teams having priority.

There are no ties. Games will played to the death, “sudden death” that is. The is no “sudden victory” in this league.

A few years ago, some members felt that they never would be able to compete with or against teams like Penn State or Maryland, so a second play off bracket was created to be the NCLL’s Division 2. This was done at the December 4, 1999 General Meeting. The guidelines are as follows:

Most of the teams in the NCLL will be eligible for both brackets.

Each year, the Commissioner will designate the Div. 1 teams in each division, since this may change due to student leadership and/or school support, etc. The Div. 1 designated teams will not be eligible for the 2nd bracket, while all others will.

FOR EXAMPLE: At the Allegheny Regional Meeting, Pitt, West Virginia and Grove City were designated D1. The team in the Allegheny Division with the best record, other than Pitt, West Virginia, or Grove City will represent that division’s slot in the D2 bracket. Division 1 teams now have a “I” after their team’s name on the Division Standings page.

The brackets, when posted, will be the same for both divisions. (This was changed later because a couple division winners did not feel that they could compete in the Division 1 bracket.)

If the next team in the division with the best record has not played the required 8 game minimum nor is current with their dues, the Commissioner may, at his discretion, choose another team to fill the vacant slot in the bracket. This team may be from another division.

The playoffs will be concurrent.

The 2 final fours and Div.1 & 2 Championship Games along with one All Star game will be played the same weekend.

Player Eligibility

Players must be full time students at the respective school they are playing for.

Players who have previously played varsity somewhere may play in the NCLL as long as they have not used up their eligibility in the NCAA. For example: If a player lettered D1 for four years somewhere, he may not play on an NCLL team; BUT, a player who lettered 3 years varsity somewhere, may play for an NCLL team. It is strongly advised to notify the Commissioner when you have such a player.

ALL PLAYERS are required to show their student ID’s when requested. If a team uses a player without a current ID for the school he is playing for or the player refuses to show his ID and that person plays, that team will forfeit the game.
